I think it's horrible but I also think there is an interesting aspect that isn't really emphasized. Nobody is claiming their dogs were stolen. The one woman says that her remaining dog is now being tied on a cable so nobody gets him. Nothing excuses the person who tortured and killed these dogs but why were Rottweilers and pit bulls running loose?
I think I read somewhere that this is a rural area. I could be wrong but rural or urban, you usually don't see rotts and pits running around by themselves let alone combined with a LACK of owners reporting them as missing when they don't come home.
I wonder if this guy is taking dogs from shelters and killing them, and leaving them for people to find.
I agree with you that the lack of ownership is a huge clue for detectives. Why is it taking so long to find this guy(s) ! The suffering these animals must be enduring is so upsetting. I just hope when he gets caught he gets sent to a maximum security prison and meets the same fate .
Yikes I reread my post. I think I was caught up in the image of these poor animals suffering. Maybe I don't mean the last part. Maybe .

I was thinking the same thing and wondering if the person or people doing this were possibly fed up with loose dogs and trying to make a statement...
It maybe this moron is a trapper, as they found several carcasses, many which were not dogs. It could also mean he
trapped some strays. But trapping season is over 3/2, so
if this is the case, they shouldn't be finding any more this year. The area is rural, but near civilisation. I live nearby, and did call the Humane Society to remind them a simular situation existed in another area about an hour away in the early 90's...might be same perp. That nobody's reported these dogs missing has some worried perp has gone out of area to obtain. Whatever the case, here's hoping the
reward (now approaching $20k) prys some lips loose. Somebody has to know something, or suspect.
Until anyone is charged with the crimes, Hart is taking no chances with her remaining dog, 10-year-old Daisy, who is being kept on a cable.
"I don't want to take a chance of anything happening and somebody just trying to grab her," Hart said. "I'm just very protective, and this is exactly why."
I feel bad for this woman that her other dog likely got taken, but on the other hand, she's leaving her 10 year old female tied out on a cable and not being able to run away where she'd be easier to catch by this psychopath?! Is she dense? She should be bringing the dog inside. Eeek!! I've never even visited California, but my father used to have to go to training sessions out in Fort Irwin for the Army and you sure didn't leave your dogs (small ones especially) tied out overnight as the coyotes would kill them. Same think with camping in bear country.
