i hope i put this in the right place. i was just wondering what everyones opinions are. Who do you think the top producing male GSD is today? or even more specific, who do you think is proucing the the best pups as far as working pups go? i know there are better ones out there that dont cost $10,000 <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
Although I have only seen 2 of his pups so far, I was so impressed with Camillo Vom Arolser Holz' progeny that I drove back to South Carolina and bought one the next week!
I have not seen Zion in person, but I have herd that he has made some nice dogs, and is himself a nice dog, He is owned by Shelley Liebowitz if I'm not mistaken in NJ. Ellute Mohnwiese has over 106 breedings so far in Germany. I have a dog from him that I like. There is a Male in Washington that is making some awesome dogs Bodo Leamarco from von den hoehenluft (lynne Lewis's) kennel, I really like what I have seen from him. I have one dog from him and Lynne has one as well. Another dog in california Tarzan Tiekerhook, has produced several really nice dogs. He produced Gus Alfars dog Antar, Ralph Gilbys currents dogs (Billy and Ben) (in Canada) and another dog in Washington that belongs to Hal Lymus -Uma vom Patalia. All these dogs are real nice.
I have also herd that the dogs from von der Abfur kennels are really nice, I have not seem any in person, only herd nice things from others about there dogs.
I have herd that Nick vom Heiligenbosch produces dogs with bad hips and backs. Again, I don't know first hand, but I talked to someone who had a lot of experience with different dogs that Nick produced.
I'd like to hear from some of our K9 handlers on who's producing police dogs. I think it's hard to judge a stud's production until you see a couple generations and find him in the 3rd or 4th generation.
I think Asko Lutter will go down as a good producer. Some of his sons and daughters are also producing well. I like Zidane vh Sevens, I've seen young dogs from 5 different litters and they are doing very well in sch. You might see a couple at the WUSV championships this year or next. I also like Tom van't leefdaalhof he has produced several top sport dogs.Aron v. Bracheler See and littermate Amigo are a couple more I like.
Sorry i am over in the desert right now so i am on a different time schedule. by working i mean the ability to do personnel protection, police, and Schh if it wants. a well balanced dog that can work in all enviroments.
