Just got the news that my 11 month old GSD has mild to moderate hip dysplasia and I'm gutted, but get positive feelings when reading other posts on the subject. His x-rays have gone off to a specialist so I'm waiting to hear what the next stage is. They suggested surgery may be an option as it's not in 2nd change. My concern is now he is limping noticeably on his left leg which he did not before. I am just wondering if anyone has an idea what they do when the x-rays are taken and do they manipulate the joint which could be making it sore hence the limp.
I can only tell you what happened when my then 8-month-old pup had x-rays for possible shoulder problems. I had asked my vet not to put him under for the x-rays, but he told me that they rotate the joint in almost "impossible" positions to get complete, accurate x-rays in order to assess the problem, and it would not be pleasant for the pup, to say the least. Also, afterward, he did limp considerably for about 2 weeks. Hope this helps.

No, not heard a thing yet, and I've been nagging them every day. Frustrating. There are 3 vets that practice at the place where we go, and I get conflicting information off them. I'll just sit tight, I should hear something within the next few days. I'll let you know.
