Ed and mods I am sorry for posting this here which is not about dog training, but all my dog friends and family must be informed about this for their safety. Some here never read the papers or listen to the news, so just wanted to make sure as many people get the word about this.
My kids will now be dropped off to school unless school boards start to put sometype of security on buses. We are doing all this high tech stuff at the airports and leaving our kids wide open. I have to admit this kind of thing hasn't weighed heavily on my mind either. This is a wake up call. The pukes are scouting out our kids now!

The bus driver should not have let these guys on the bus in the first place let alone give them time to sit down and start talking. Our bus driver wouldn`t have let them in.
You`re over reacting Chris. Kids are in more danger from the drug abuse and promiscuity than this. Believe me, I`m a sophmore in high school right now. With the No Child Left Behind crap looming over schools most of them don`t have a penny left to do anything. I have to walk about 20 minutes in 100 degree heat to get to a bus for summer school because the district just doesn`t have the money to let the busses do more stops.
What would you propose they do anyway? Put an armed guard on every bus to make sure that we aren`t criminals? It`d be smarter for somebody with bad intentions to just walk onto campus in the middle of lunch. The busses have cameras in them. Come to think of it your kids are more likely to die in a car crash with you on their way to school than ever have this happen to them. I`m just trying to put things in prospective here.

This is a rediculously nieve post. How stupid and foolish you are. My son survived 6 suicid bombers while in Iraq - that killed over 60 people. I have always said what would happen if one of these bombers made his way into our schools.
Wake up and pay attention.

Cathy,
Ask any Israeli if they think Chris is over-reacting about a bus being a target for terrorism.

Terrorists hope and pray for perspectives just like yours. It makes their goals far easier to attain.

What the heck were they really doing on the bus?
Hah, summer school when I was in high school cost about $1000, it was three towns away and there was no child left behind act back then. No buses there either. This in a district where the average home was paying about $10,000 per year in property taxes... If you had to go to summer school, you had a lot of explaining to your parents to do
Some districts are strict about bus driver policy. You have to stay at your designated stop, no moving to the next one to hang out with friends. It's unbelievable that these people even got on the bus. It wouldn't have happened in my area, and we have a school district with over 11,000 kids. Very scary. It could have ended really bad. The bus driver should be fired.

When, I read about stories like this. These 3 quotes from two great American leaders come to my mind.
"The things that will destroy America are prosperity-at-any-price, peace-at-any-price, safety-first instead of duty-first, the love of soft living, and the get-rich-quick theory of life."
Theodore Roosevelt
The bus driver should have done his or her duty and protected the children. The driver should be held responsible for inaction. These men should have never been allowed to enter the bus. I don't want to jump the gun and convict these men as being terrorist but I would investigate them for the day they were born till today. To be on the safe side.
"They that can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." Benjamin Franklin
We are living in troubling times but we shouldn't allow ourselves to become fearful. Benjamin Franklin and our founding father's lived with the knowledge if their actions failed they would be put to death. They put their lives on the line for the freedoms we enjoy today.
"Order without liberty and liberty without order are equally destructive." Theodore Roosevelt
This is the type of leaders and citizenship, we need in this country today. Not politicians and pundits that prey on our fears. Where are the Teddy Roosevelt's and Benjamin Franklin's of today. Leaders that quelled fear and asked their fellow citizens to sacrifice for a better future.
Instead of left and right wingers preying on our fears for their political advantage and donors profits. Maybe I'm an idealist but we have to do better than the course this countries on.

Kids are more likely to do drugs. I don't know much about the buses, I do think it's creepy about a man by himself with a bunch of little kids (I don't mean pedifiles, I mean terrorist.) Maybe if the had a cop sit in the back of the bus but then again there is someone that will disagree with this idea. I say the best way is toi just drive your kid to school, get them thier lisence if they can or have someone you know you can trust drive you kid to school, like a friends mom.

Wow, my daughter gets a ride to school, she has since school started in Sept. The other day her ride was busy and I couldn't help her so I said ..."Take the bus", ha - the Bus Driver wouldn't LET HER ON, because he had never seen her use the bus before, it is her stop, but he demanded the pass they issue in Sep, which is long gone, I can't imagine what he would have done if the situation Chris is talking about occured. Cathy you are young, but really bad things happen to good people all the time, especially during war.

I think you really nailed it Val, There are people in this country that don't realize or refuse to accept the fact that we are at war with an enemy that believes everyone of us is a legitimate target. It most likely a mistake but the "guests" need to be questioned thoroughly. A few days at Gitmo might be a little over the top
