I have found a lot of hype for the frozen Bil Jac food as tracking bait. Unfortunately, the frozen stuff is unavailable in my neck of the woods, but I can find the dry Bil Jac. Does anyone know how the two compare?
First, on the Bil-Jack; The frozen Bil-Jack is moist, and that is what makes it good for training. Personaly, I don't like either. I prefer any brand of roll dog food sold at any major Pet Store. These types of food have enough moisture content to allow quick intake, and not so much that will draw ants in a 15 minute period. The frozen Bil-Jack will draw ants quicker. You can test this for yourself by putting both foods out and time how long it takes for the foods to become covered. Well, you can test it if you can find the frozen Bil-Jack.
The dry Bil-Jack would be better in regards to ants, but being dry the dog will take a second to chew up the tidbit. This could break consentration on some dogs. Plus the dry Bil-Jack has a pretty strong smell, not something I would want on my tracks.

Thanks for the input, Orville. But that being said what exactly is "any brand of roll dog food solid"? Is that those sausage looking things in the treat section of the pet stores? <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
