YEH! Old! I resemble that remark, and where where those gopher grabbers 14-15yrs ago when I was learning to tail a groundhog or a coon. Those critters can really get pissy when your trying to pull them out of a hole by their tail.
Actually, they come in handy for ridiculously shaped breeds like doxies, pekes, bassets, corgis, etc. Not that they should be allowed on beds or furniture, but you can use them to help them in and out of the car, etc. Those breeds are very prone to spinal issues stemming from being created in a stupid shape. I just paid over $3k for spinal surgery for a chihuahua w/a ruptured disc, so I can see where someone with one of the above breeds would opt for the steps to avoid vertebral damage. They're a hell of a lot cheaper. But other than that...dumb, dumb, dumb.
I'm guilty of using a sturdier version of those steps for my Corgi so that she can make it up on our bed ( hey, she's nine years old and has earned te right to sleep with the pack, in my opinion ).
Since we're confessing...I am guilty of owning a pekingese...and a chihuahua...who have cherry wood steps...that match my furniture...
Hey, they're STILL cheaper than back surgery!

Will, Props for admitting that. I know better than to ask, but....are you getting soft

Dachshunds are actually a hunting breed. The name literally translates to badger dog. The originals were designed to go into badger holes and that's asking for a lot from your dog.
