I think that DDR and Czech german shepherds are kind of similar, but how different are they? What make they fall into those caterogy "DDR" and "Czech"?
"It's better to be an optimist who is sometimes wrong than a pessimist who is always right"
DDR and Chech is just saying where they are from, kinda like saying american and canadian. I have a 100% DDR sable and from what i have read, a sable ddr was very rear back in the day. the sable was looked as a poor bread dog and unless the dog could work its butt off they would let the dog die cause the country was to poor to support a dog that wasn't working. from what i understand they would rather have a brown and black dog that would work ok then a sable that worked pretty good. it really comes down to opinion i think. to me i like DDR cause i think they work better,JMO, simply cause looking at the bloodline if the dog didn't work it would not be kept. the chech line is a little richer so if a dog was not able to work it would still be kept as a show dog or pet, which means you could end up breeding a pet dog with another pet dog and it still be 100% chech.
