RUN don't walk away, from anyone who still refers to an
e-collar as a SHOCK Collar :-)
All you have to do is associate low levels of stim with
a pleasurable activity. Play tug while giving low levels of
stim (you need a decent collar, tritronics, dogtra etc.)
Low level stim while rough housing or playing fetch etc.
Before you know it the dog will feel stim and be excited.
ONce the dog is conditioned you can deliver corrections and
the dogs drive will go up not down.
I have been toying with the idea of training a dog with the clicker beeing "negative" and the ecollar beeing positive. It would warp a few people's minds. (Probably also my own. After my dog did something spectacular, I clicked ... but I was holding the ecollar transmitter! Thank heavens for low stim and high drive - - no damage was done.
