"Justice", A Gambler's Virgil x Darla dog bred by Jami Long(Southern Bulldogs) and owned/trained by Joe Weinmuller. A truly beautiful example of the breed(except for not having natural ears, I hate that! <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />.
The only problem with a video like that which shows 90% bite work and 10% obedience is that it plays *directly* into the BSL folks corner.
I could see those close ups of the dog biting the sleeve ( shot looking over the helper's shoulder ) being shown to the general public and hurting the breed....but that's just my opinion.
Daniel,
I *love* the happy attitude of your dog!! <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />
And I want to make sure that everyone realizes that my comments about the previous video with the bitework are strictly from a "PC" sense.
Anything that can be used to show pit bulls in a negative light will be - the BSL folks and their willing cronies in the media have proven that over and over again.
Most of the public sees bitework in a bad light, add a pit bull to the mixture and you've just supplied ammunition to the enemy.
Dumb, dumb, dumb. <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
The worst thing here is that those that know what they are looking at can see that this dog is showing very little aggression (a term I hesitate to use but the lay person might understand it better) in its bitework in the video. A clear dog and probably a safe dog.

There certainly is a double standard when it comes to bitework and pit bulldogs, however unfair, it's still a critique which breed fanciers need consider before undertaking this type of training.
However, with that said, sharing the video was intended only to highlight a beautiful, quality dog out there laying it on the line for the world to see. I would think this forum being the vehicle that it is for information, could see through the "PC" bunk and provide equal footing for all, regardless of breed.
I agree with will. Though I understand the video and have no problem with it. I believe he was just saying that unfortunately the media won't show obedience of friendliness they will show a 5 - 10 second clip of dog biting and use it a a sound bite for pitbull aggression.
I personally feel that even though I love and own the pit bull breed. If I want to participate in ring or such I would rather use a mal or gsd. They are better at it over all. Yeah there is an occasional pit that is great but over all they excell in other things such as weight pull.
