I posted a question, Ed is the only one replied I answered 121 views no other opinions why? Also been training and no more problems since I took the toys. I train daily and I am marker training, hope I get good at it, dogs are better. The boys love playing together. Thanks
He gave me two options crate or get rid of, i always crate, I guess since I am so new I just expected more advise, not do this only.Maybe I am in the wrong place. This is a forum and not to bash anyone or Ed but just expected more, disapointed. I have had dogs for 48 years, not an expert, just not ignorant. Most of my dogs rescue dogs, and I don't keep biters, only one out of all the ones I have had. He bit me and he went back end of story. I am the one the dogs follow always, no matter if my dog or husbands they follow me. We are in search and rescue and I am always training always reading. Just needed opinions I did not get.

Because when Ed answers, further comment is usualy superfluous <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smirk.gif" alt="" />
can i get my 10% discount now?
Seriously, Karen, when Ed answers a question it's usually pretty complete and to-the-point. <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
Crate and separate or re-home one are the two choices, IMO, in the situation you describe. I also think the DVD you ordered is going to answer every question in detail and with clarity.
You mentioned having heard someone say to let them work it out. No, no, a thousand times no.
You're the pack leader. Neither dog decides anything in your pack.
There might come a time when you can have interaction, but it isn't now. If it's going to be possible, it will be after each dog has learned basic obedience and who the alpha is (you), separately.
Good for you for doing the research and not listening to the boob who said to let them work it out. And good for you to have removed the toys and started pack leadership practices. <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif" alt="" />
P.S. Truly, if Ed Frawley answers a post, there is often nothing additional to say......... ! You're not on a "won't help" board at all.
thanks, I have not had one more problem since I took the toys away and that was just the new toys I gave to the new dog. The problem I had or thought I had after that I now understand the new dog has skin problems and was licking and grooming the foot with the problem and booker the big lankey kid came in and is pushie and stuck his nose to it and there was a low growl from the new bluetick and I imediately separated before issue and nothing happened and nothing since,I pay attention to everything, thanks for the help

Yes, that possessive thing can be a major trigger, IME. No toys left out and no feeding near each other. <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
