Maybe this question is too old, it's so hard to get it out of my mouth because I feel sort of embarrassed when I come to this.
My Dexter is exactly 8 weeks old. When I walk him, he's always biting my pants and pull in the opposition direction. Why's that? What does he want? I come to a stop, and he just sit there. Once I start to walk again, he then starts to bite me again.
Im sure this will be covered in the Ed's DVDs. I ordered two and they're right now on the way. Its still gonna take some more time. So right now anybody can give me an answer?
Scott the basic reason why young pups bit is explained in the article I wrote titlted The Theory of Corrections in Dog Training. You can find it in the list of training articles.

Thanks for your business.
Ed, I have 2 of your vids (8weeks-8months and basic obedience). I read that article you just suggested and I have a question:
How do you know your dog respects you?
I am training my first dog (4 weeks old).
This question is also directed to those other experienced trainers as well as Ed.

I'm pretty sure it was, Anne........... I had that same reaction, until I remembered that in a thread about eye contact recently, he said 4 MONTHS....... <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> Also, he got her (I believe) at 8 weeks.

It's not impossible. I visited our local prfessional training center. The people there told me they start to train puppies when puppies are just about 4 or 5 weeks. And I saw that. But I think it should be with lots difficulties.

I don't know to what extent they're trained, but I'm fairly certain my friend in the Philippines starts his pups at 6wks old.
