Hello all,
I am so glad to be apart of this forum and have been reading it for 8 years now. I don't know why I haven't joined until now. I recently mated my non-titled bitch(Dax) with a Pohranicni Straze male (Mec) that is intense high drive and also ZM titled (BH with bite work). The sire (Mec) I used is a Car Policia son and Titus z Pohranicni is his grand sire. She is a Sarec v Haus Antverpa grand daughter with Demy von der Dithmarscher Schweiz SCHH 3, IPO 3 as her grand dam on the same side. Her dam is Neith von Lisdorferland an imported female. From the DVD I seen of Neith she is fully ready for SchH 1 but the person that imported her never took her to trials to obtain it. I am just wanting to get opinions from some experienced trainers/breeders out there. Ed told me in an email that the pedigree seemed pretty decent but all litters are a crap shoot. What do you people think. If you need to see the pedigree I will email it to you for your opinion. I am hoping to get at least 2 sport quaility pups out of the litter. Do you think I will get that? Thanks in advance
Rick Davis
Why are lots of people looking at my post but no opinions? Must one be in a SchH Club if so I am not at this point. I do hope to join one soon. I am hopeing to find one a little closer than the ones I have found thus far.
Well Connie you may be right I hadn't thought of that. I would like more than one opinion even if it is in agreement and from Ed (the Great one) no pun intended, the guy is obviously awesome in knowledge. It is that I would like to know a little of what people think of those lines not just will I get good pups. I just didn't ask that huh?
Sounds like "shoot first, ask questions later" <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> Ed's advice is about the best you can get for your circumstance, unless someone has intimate knowledge of both parents of your litter. The bloodlines have generally produced some decent dogs, so it's not unlikely you'll find two good pups. But, just to illustrate how difficult it is to say, I have a daughter of Car Policia who is not at all what anyone would call high drive, like Mec you described. She's a damn good bitch though, with strong civil and good bone structure. My point is, you don't have to go far back in the pedigree for characteristics to drastically differ. And with an outcross breeding like this, you'll probably see significant differences between pups within this single litter once they're on the ground.
Thanks for the reply. I may have confused you. Mec is the male I used that is well structured and high drive from Pohranicni Straze. Dax is my low to med drive bitch. If you could look at the pedigree it would be easier but one can not attach things here or at least I don't know how. I also believe some of her problem (my bitch) is one over correction when I first got her. The reason I say this is she hastles for no reason when I approach and stops soon after I leave. I have tested this and sure enough she will start back if I return. I am sure it is axieity. I will start a new thread so if someone wants to comment on that please use that thread. I will try to figure out a way to turn the pedigrees into images so I can post them.
