Sorry, as I know this is dog related but since he is involved with many animals, etc i felt it would be a good place to let everyone know as there is no "open discussion" rooms here.
He died from a stingray Barb to the chest whcih according to scientists and medical staff is almost unheard of even when people step on them.
Thanks for posting- this is especially hard for me. He was SUCH an animal/conservation advocate, and his undying loyalty to his dog Sui was incredible. I really really loved what he did, and the world has lost a special light.

It is definately tragic. There have been, and will continue to be, very few people that have a remote chance of filling his shoes. I really hope that people will be sympathetic to his feelings about conservation, especially about the animals that few people care about as much as he did (crocs, alligators, snakes, and other reptiles and dangerous animals).
My sister is a huge fan of Irwin and in fact was just using him as a prime example in a heated debate we were having the other day. Needless to say, when she brought him, "exception man" into the equation, I "lost" the debate.
His spirit will live forever, as he is now, I believe a true legend.
I just heard this on the news this morning...too bad...he was an advocate for some of the aminals that most people would not otherwise care much about. A great loss for his wife & children & to the world. They will need much support from friends & family (even the world of family that Irwin inspired)My god bless them & guide them thru this difficult time in their lives. Sad. <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />
