Be careful, once you start here, you may become addicted. I believe Ed is starting a special program,.

That depends.......... looking for anonymity and avatars or knowledgeable dog training discussion?
I found plenty of the first and very little of the second before I joined this board.
I personally like knowing who I am talking to and why should one hide? are we not all here for the same reason ...To learn?
As far as the avatars it is different I agree but find one that suits you and be creative. Mine is! I looked at it as you can either be looking in or looking to get out depending on the situration at hand. Hope you join us

I agree, however the board should get rid of stars, post counts, and birthdays to be consistent.
Add a good search feature, subscribe to thread feature and new post tracking; it also appears that the email notification is broken!
But I am a positive person so I will dive into the resources on here and see for myself.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure no one forces you to come here. If you feel there is nothing offered here for you then go away I wouldn't hang around somewhere that made me feel like that.
I think this place is great and I'm glad to be here. I was a little wierded out about the real name thing at first, but it really isn't a big deal.
I think the use of full names is one of the excellent features of this board. Many other boards where people remain anonymous waste a huge amount of time on acrimonious sniping and personal attacks. It seems that not being able to hide behind some false name, and the inability to change your name on a whim, means that people think a bit more before posting.
As far as what this place has to offer, it has a large number of very experienced trainers and private owners. I have learned a lot here.
Thanks for the replies and opinions; I would have responded sooner but the board does not send me mail. I have since found another board, but will stop in from time to time.
I really don't think it's the fault of this Board that you don't get an email of your messages. Go to your "My Home" page; look under "Main Configuration"; click "Edit" beside "Subscribe/unsubscribe from receiving e-mail". Simple, actually, but then again you have to do it yourself.
Perhaps your new board will do some of your work for you and all will be well, but when you really need some good advice, do check back with us. Chances are you won't be spoon-fed, but you will be pointed in the right direction.
