That is awful. OMG...it is really heartbreaking . i don't even know how to comment on this. i think if were a handler that would not have been the end of it. i may have had to take matters into my own hands. i know violence solves nothing but it sure can make you feel a little better sometimes. Those two "police officers", if that is what you consider them, are a very poor excuse for a public safety offical. i spit on them.
I give the Sgt. credit for not beating the Sh** out of those officers on the spot. But after reading that one of the officers knocked the Sgt to the ground, well that should have been an open invitation for an ass whoopin'. It would be worth a few days off work.
I should have done what you did and not read it. So depressing. I reposted everywhere as well. Might as well spread the misery (and awareness of the tribute).
I just don't get it. If I, as a non-LEO, shoot a PSD, I will be vigorously prosecuted just the same as if I shot a HUMAN officer. If this is the kind of observant behavior (ignoring police badge on dog with K9 van in full view) typical of these officers, I don't think they should be trusted with power tools, let alone guns.
I'm not resident in US but has anyone responded to the link to file complaints against the officers? surely this cannot be just left, the two officers need to answer for the crime they committed... god help us all..... there must be a large number of US citizens on this forum... representation should be no MUST be made ... for the sake of that wonderful dog.
Not to be a jerk or anything but anybody miss the part about Git having a leg bite on a TWELVE year old? Watching a child lying on the ground while a K9 has a bite to the bone on him was probably a bit more than the LEOs could stand. I'm not going to condemn the officers in question when it may very well be bad procedure/policy or poor dog handling. Jmho as a private citizen, I hope the K9 handlers and LEOs on this board will give thier opinions
