I noticed they say the e collar is outdated and caused the gsd to bite its owner, and the hanging like the dominant dog collar method, taking the air away is inhumane and outdated.
They said they would like to wee positive training on the channel.
I don't know if these people know the state these dogs are in. I personally don't think a dog biting people and dogs is going to respond to a clicker at first.
Another knee jerk reation to working with PROBLEM dogs and bad owners!!!! The dogs are not normally the problem and unless the AHA wants to accept the animal that Cesar works with and put them into a no kill shelter then I say they are WRONG. Yes Cesar does use Remote Trainers, prong collars and the like but many if not most animal trainers do the same thing. The problem most folks have with Cesar if you ask me is that they are jealous that he is working with animals that MOST folks would put down. Yes he can and is a bit tuff but then again he is not working with dogs that are out of balance as he would put it. If owners would do thier JOB's Cesar would not have one. Once again American treat thier dogs like CHILDREN and look how many kids are now killing each other every year. So is it more humanan to attempt to correct a dog issue or to just put it down... I think the AHA would vote for KILLING the dog... MHO
There are several groups here and in the UK (and I understand from another poster, also in Holland) trying all the time to "get the show off the air."
I say, good for National Geographic for bucking them. I sent an email to them when the other suits started up. I wanted them (and MPH productions) to know that the loudest people are not always the majority.
Here is the point most often overlooked by the AHA (and others): When he uses what they call inhumane treatment, it's with a dog who is so off-kilter that the next step is euthanization. He doesn't choke out a dog who's barking at cars. He chokes out a dog who is trying to kill (or has killed and is trying to do it again).
IMO, he uses only the force necessary. A dire situation calls for drastic-seeming measures, which he does *not* use on dogs who aren't endangering humans and/or other animals.
The only thing "inhumane" about Millan's show is the abundance of dogs getting killed with kindness. How about that lady who offed her Min Pin because she didn't want to put the time into training it? Where was this humane organization for that?!
Wow the world is full of nut jobs. The AHA and PETA both fail to recognize that animals are animals and need to be communicated with in terms that they understand. If people trained and interacted with their dogs properly from the start these more drastic measures that the letter sites would not be necessary. The flip side is that the AHA offers no alternative training method for dealing with an aggressive dog. If you can't offer an alternative you should keep your mouth shut.
I would rather put a dog thru a few weeks of tough training than have them euthanized because nobody can handle them. I think people who complain about "abusive" training methods haven't ever been around a truly dangerous dog or are incredibly naive.
**And by dangerous, I just mean a very fixable/possibly handler aggressive/people aggressive dominant dog, that in the wrong hands would likely maul or kill someone.

I agree 100%. I personally really enjoy watching Cesar's show. The people complaining probably have out of control dogs.
