The reason I ask is that in the past 4 months I have e-mailed a few kennels pertaining to the upcomming litters that they advertise. You know info@#### and have not recieved a reply.
Is this because a potential buyer Must go through a broker? <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" /> I know this is not the case for czech breeders.
In addition, I also noticed that for example on pedigreedatabase.com
What seems to be a german kennel will advertise a Dog and/or a litter
and that if you go back to the same webpage that they provide a few weeks later it does not exist.
I assume that this is because there is much corruption over there.
Put a fake/bunk/mirage website for a few weeks advertising a super litter, collect funds, Then vanish like a fart in the wind.
honestly, i would be very leery of buying from anyone who advertises on pedigreedatabase........unless i KNEW of them personally. there is so much bogus crap that goes on in that board its not even funny. there are some serious people with good dogs and good reps, but unless you know who they are you can really be taken for a ride.
if there are no dogs in heaven, then when i die i want to go where they went. ---will rogers
If you are looking for a working lines dog, there are a lot of good ones being raised in the US.
Domestically, it's a bit easier to check up on the breeder's rep and on the dog. Plus, it's getting really expensive to just ship the dog back to the US.
From what I've heard, to get a good dog from Europe, you have to be plugged into the network ... gotta know someone who knows someone who has a nice dog. Then again, you have to get plugged into the network here in the US too.
If you are looking for a German High line imported dog, one person on the PDB board who I have talked to personally, have met one of his dogs, and who is very well respected in that community is Randy Brent "dog1". Every one there seems to respect his experience, success and honesty, and that is a terribly tough crowd of back bitters. He has many contacts in Germany, and breeds his own dogs in Virginia. Another one is Chris or Joe at Von Silberbee Kennels, "silbersee". They are in the DC area.
