Maybe you guys can help me with this. Are there any good e-collars that can be used for barking as well? Meaning that there might be a separate function just for barking and then another function for training purposes? I hope that makes sense.
As far as I know remote training (e-collars) and the anti-bark collars are totally separate items. If you are there to correct the dog for barking you could do so with an e-collar but if the barking problem occurs when you aren't home, a good quality anti-bark collar would probably work best.
I, personally, am not aware of a duel purpose collar like you describe. I do use both types regularly. Mine are both TriTronics and I am happy with them.
Just remember that with a barking collar you still have to start out with it on the dog with you around. That way when the dog barks and the collar gives a correction you can give the appropriate “not bark” command. Otherwise the zap will not mean anything to the dog. Eventually you can leave the dog alone with the collar on and it will understand any corrections the collar may give.
