While about 2 weeks ago I posted on the board. I had placed a puppy in a home.
Problem one. They took her to the vet and had the vet got sniped.
Problem two . their older son and the dog were not getting along
Problem three the cat chased her thought the house.
Well They had a traininer come out (and a good one at that) that went over the dog with them. He said the vet was in the wrong for not correcting her right away and stated she should of known better then leaning over the dog.
He (trainer) had the whole family work the dog including the son and it went well with everyone , the older son it went ok. The pup did listen to him but no bond
Well after the cat chased her though the house it only took a couple days for her to realize that she was bigger. She was "hunting" for the cats. This was too much for the new owners as she would not give up and would do it all day and night.
She came home last night They are looking at getting a puppy to raise with the cats.
That is too bad...it's a shame that they didn't want to take the time to acclimate the dog to cats. It's even worse that they are just getting another puppy. I wonder how many it will take until they realize they don't need or deserve a dog. I'm glad she is home with you know...sounds like it was bound to happen sooner or later. It's better now as she would have just learned more bad habits there.
Hello
i totally agree with melissa.
hey i have the same problem when i first got Cali she was fine with the nabours cat and would go and play with her. one day there was another cat from down the street and cali figured to go up to him and play. only this cat went on the deffencive and scrached cali. now every time she can see a cat she runs up to it for a sniff and see if it is an agressive cat. my problem is other cats are afaid of her apraoch and i must always call her back. i have been trying to fix it by visiting a friend with three cats. we have not intoduce them yet, but just like it was said obove she cant stop seeking unless she is told to leav it. waht should i do.
