Well I'm having quiet a time trying to locate my first GSD. There are a few, what I thought were simple, characteristics that I am going for but have had a terrible time finding! I can't find a young male GSD with a sable coat that has protection training! It sounds simple, but let me tell you its not! One problem is that I have a cat and the GSD will be living indoors with him, so I want a dog that will bite to protect me, but not bite my cat. Once I settle on a dog, is it customary for the breeder to demand a wire transfer? I had my heart set on this beautiful sable in Slovakia, but the breeder will not accept credit card she will only take wire transfers. I'm much too leary to send that kind of money to someone I haven't met, can anyone tell me if this is common practice? Well, any advice is certainly welcome. Here's that dog's link if anyone wants to give me some pointers: http://www.eurosportk9.com/forsale.asp you'll need to scroll down to Kaskal.

I think others will help with the search and the payment protocol, but the part about the cat.........

I'm confused, are you looking for a young dog who has started some bitework, or a trained personal protection dog?
Good luck finding someone who will sell you a dog thats guaranteed to not chase your cat. This is something you will probably have to work on with just about any high drive dog you get.

Oh about the cat, I didn't mean to throw you guys off about that. I realize that I must strictly monitor the dog and cat interactions and never plan on leaving them alone together. All I meant by that was the dog must be well socialized with other animals and cannot be cat killer in general.

JMHO, but EuroSport K9 is a respected broker. 3-4 of our club dogs, including the mother of my own dog, came from there.
There are also some highly respected protection dog trainers on this forum. Will Rambo being at the top of the list.

One trainer I go too cited he got tired of clients calling and complaining about dogs he sold chasing cats, sooo he only advertises by word of mouth now. If you really need a PP dog ( most people dont ) and your pockets are deep enough you shouldnt have a problem. I hope you have some resonable background in working dogs. Good luck

Hi Brooke,
We have bought many dogs from Josef & Taunya Mravik of Eurosport. They are great, honest people and we have never been disappointed in any dog that we have received from them. My husband has been drooling iver Kaskal and if I were you I would grab him quickly as he will sell fast. His sire, Galant z PS, is a wonderful producer. You can feel totally comfortable wiring money to them. Good luck and I hope you are able to get him.

My appologies to Will Rambeau for mispelling his name.
I've only been on this forum for 4+ years. <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.leerburg.com/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" />
