Hi Amber,
It sounds good but I could not find the Percentage of what exactly is in each roll.I saw the pre-packaged nibblets they carry, sounds good for tracking I might order some. I wonder if you have to add anyting to it as far as a daily meal .I would be curious too to know more about it ,if it is a good product or not.I have been so busy with my kids in school that I am looking for another Raw method that would help me out more to prepare each day...
I started using it, and my dog really liked it. Unfortunately, there is no distributor in my area. The breeder I purchased my dog from orders 2,000 lbs every four weeks, and for awhile he was ordering mine for me, but he ran into a bind for freezer space and stopped. So I switched to another raw meat. But for the several months we fed AFS my dog liked it. We liked the patties, made it easy to feed. Is the breeder in Wa. State by any chance?
Amber,
I bought some food from there just now and I put your name as a referral.Maybe they'll give you a coupon or something.
I'll let eveyone know what we think of this food for our big wolfs.I bought the beef w/tripe and dry freeze /pure chicken for tracking. And the patties .
no, no, NO!!! animal food services uses condemned meat in their products. this is stuff that is unfit for human consumption that goes to zoo animals. you can tell by reading the ingredients. charcoal is listed. producers are required to put charcoal in condemned meat so that people won't eat it.
your dog needs to eat food that is fit for human consumption and is not condemned!!!!
this is from AFS own website. in effect, they are telling you that this is meat condemned for pet food:
Quote:
Q. Why does the raw meat product have charcoal in it?
A. The transporting of unprocessed meat items for pet food is regulated by the compliance division of the USDA. As a means of denaturing these products, i.e. distinguishing from human foods, it is mandatory to mix something harmless, but easy to identify, into the mix.
The use of charcoal, an inert totally harmless organic substance and often used as a digestive aid for animals, is the most widely used and accepted of the options available.
also they say the fruit and veggies are fit for human consumption. NOT saying the meat is is a quite glaring omission.
this company has been around forever supplying zoos and circuses; but they are not offering a product that we who feed a raw diet would use.

Well, you beat me....... I was just searching for info about this company, because I was surprised I had never heard of a thirty-year-old raw-food company, and I came across not-good hints, such as negative comments submitted to the FDA about this company and Breeders' Choice, both for reportedly using exactly what Alice says: “4D” meats that have been condemned for human consumption.
