I like it. I especially like that we can see a longer list of more recently active topics.
I like this feature too. I will try to do a better job of putting topics where they belong, rather than going straight for "General Conversation" since this new format should make all the well organized sections more visible.
Thanks again to Team Leerburg - the best all around dog information site in the WWW!
Looks pretty neat. Hopefully, I can navigate around. It wouldn't let me enter the topic (just to read) unless I signed on. Or maybe it's something i did?
Ed's comment: we checked this and it does allow non-registered members to read - it just does not display avatars.
I have a question...in the active topics list it shows you what time the last post was, but doesn't tell you who made it. It only shows the original poster. Is there anyway for me to change that to show the most recent poster instead?
Thanks.
Ed's Comment edited in: The last time we updated the web board my two IT guys completely rewrote the computer code to allow the active topics to look the way they old board did - WHICH WAS TO SHOW THE NAME OF THE LAST POSTER.
I just discussed this with Ryan (my IT manager) and he told me they would have to do that again for this update. He had some concern about how the computer code was written to allow board members to review up to 7 days of active topics. He was concerned about how much work it would take to recode everything if he had to include that feature - WHICH I REALLY LIKE.
So I am inclined to leave this the way it is for awhile. I do the like old way better - where you could look and see who the last poster was.
Ryan is working on a few things today on the board - concerning registration of new members and adding links to the side of the web board. When thats done he will have a look at this issue before we make a final decision on it.
By the way - if you use FIREFOX for your browser (which is more secure than IE) it has a built in spell checker - god knows people like me need it.
