Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me. A few months back I was given an import pup with the understanding that papers would come soon.I was given a passport but nothing else. to make a long story short now i'm told kennel wants more money for papers but person that gave me pup wont tell me who the kennel is so i can pay the money. can someone tell me is there a way to find this kennel with just the paperwork I do have? Pup came from Germany...

Wow, that's really fishy. Why won't the person tell you who the kennel is? And who told you that the kennel wants more money for the paperwork? Is it the same person that won't tell you who the kennel is?
Does the pup have a tattoo? Pehaps you could do a search in the pedigree database for the pups official name, provided you have that. What info is listed on the passport?
Could you give some more info? This sounds really weird to me.

I'm sorry June,
The story makes no sence.
First who is this person that sold you the dog? Meaning who did you pay for your dog? Do you know for a fact your pup was imported? Do you have a customs copy?Their are too many un-answered questions here, too many holes. Please be more specific so that we can help you better.

i've never had a dog imported before on my own and i didnt have this one imported either. the guy that GAVE him to me did. he was a friend and he said he didnt have time for the pup at that time. i'm told all the papers i have is all pup came with.shot record, passport, and flight information. i'll have to look again and see if theres anything else. this pup was to be a trade for a pup out of my stud dog when i bred him. and you are right, none of this makes sence.

June,
If you would really like some help on this, I think you should post some more info. You don't have to name your friend (ex-friend?) but I don't think you have enough info for anyone here to do much more than tell you it sounds really fishy at best or worst case scenario:a scam.
It's possible that you could have some legal grounds, depending on the situation.
I don't know about this, but someone here might be able to help you track down the tattoo.

All I could find is that there is a vet named Jarmilla Kollova in Slovakia. Don't know if it's related to your search or not, but it's a good start since a simple search on the internet brought up a vet as the first result.
Here is her info:
MVDr. Jarmila Kollová
Address: Podhora 11 034 01 City: Ružomberok Telephone: 044/432 32 12, 0905 28 44 25
There could very realistically be a language barrier, but it could be a good starting point. This is also a good place to start in looking into the tattoo.
I don't know where the microchipping was done...in the US or elsewhere, but you could contact the major microchippers such as Home Again and see if you yield any results.
Personally, I would have a serious discussion with the guy that gave you the dog. I would NOT give him money to send to a kennel that he's keeping secret. You have a right to be suspicious and I wouldn't make any deals with him regarding getting a pup from you. This sounds like a scam to me.

It sounds like some scamming might be going on here. But if you have reason to believe that the pup came from Germany, have you tried to contact the German SV to inquire about possible records on the tattoo (assuming you have reason to believe it might have been done there). YIKES! I just went to the link I have on file for the SV site, and I can't find anything that's "English Friendly." I have been able to get very helpful info previously regarding status of hip certifications, etc. using their former contact information (respectfully asking for someone who could correspond in English). I think they might have made some changes to the web site.
OK - I will go contact a US based pal who came from Germany, understands the SV system inside and out, and who can hopefully help you find a contact in case your tattoo is on file there.....
Give me some time...sorry ..
