There was worms in my dogs stool but I am having trouble
figuring out what worm it is. I have already dewormed with all wormer but would still like to know what worm I am dealing with.
I searched the internet and forum but still do not know for sure.
The worm was about 1/4" to 3/4" long, flat, white and nonsegmented. I did see one of them living for a few seconds
thats what caught my eye. The rest all appeared to be dead.
They are about 1/8" wide. All the pictures of worms I have seen are round except for the tape worm which is segmented. They maybe broken off pieces of a larger worm stuck to the intestine wall but the picture of that type of worm appear to be round??
I figure some folks with more experience may be able to indentify
with the description.
Thanks
Steve

Instead of playing guessing games....take a stool sample to the vet for a fecal float a they will tell you what kind of worms he is infected with & will adminster the approptiate worming medicine for that worm.
I can buy allwormer on the net and save
money and kill the worms. Pay for a vet visit
and their over priced crap. Then he will want to vac my dog for every thing under the sun. Some times a vet visit is warranted but not in this case.

It claims to get rid of two types of tape worms.
I also checked my dogs stool for a few days after
meds. Lots of broke up pieces of worms and now nothing.

Tapeworms are almost never found in fecal samples checked by the vet. The eggs are in the passed segments; not in the stool itself, like hooks, whips, rounds, etc. Dogs get most usually get tapes from eating fleas, so if you control the fleas, your tapeworm problem will probably resolve after worming.
