Not hijacking thread, but there are some other good videos on that particular site, such as "Police Dog": Police Dog
Some cool attacks on that video, including the one where the dog turns on his handler - LOL - shouldn't laugh

Wow! Cool videos!
That poor handler...his body language said it all...LOL. Excuse my ignorant question but is a 2 dog attack an unusual thing? Seems I always see 1 dog vs 1 perp.
Sandy,
That video is a french K9 training exercise, and at the end the handler said it was the first time his dog has ever bit him.
That's what happen when a dog is in full drive.
I was bitten in the crouch by my male Yaggo doing obedience during the bite work ( no blood) I had on thick pants. All he could think about was biting the decoy....
The guard is taught a number of different ways. I chose to have my dog guard like this because it greatly reduces the chance the decoy might be able to get a metre or two from my dog in an escape attempt. As far as real world application I doubt it would good because it puts the dog in a comprimising position as far as an actual bad guy goes, but in the sport, escapes and points are judged by meters gained making this extremely effective.
It also shows the control the dog had in that position, personaly I don't like it, it is a compromising position, not a good one to put your dog in. I like the bite work that would be more efficient in a "real situation"
I totally agree with you Angelique, it's a bad spot to put your dog in if you're actually escorting bad guys, I was just answering the original posters question. And as far as the control goes, there were a number of extra "bites" as the decoy tried to move around during the excercise which isn't supposed to happen.
ooh - lookie. a guy in a padded suit. watch as i run around and grab his pantlegs while he swings his arms up and down and fires a blank pistol. scary. oh, and i'll put my head between his legs and wag my tail with my tongue hanging out while he walks super slow trying to avoid accidentally stepping on me and take a cheap shot or two when my questionable nerve and high drive takes over any control i might have compared to, say, an 8 week old puppy...
yeah. awesome. kudos to the guy running around in the suit, though. those things are heavy. i'd be tired, too.
P.S. - what's the over/under on how many stars i lose for making fun of the "über impressive/way more realistic than schutzhund could ever be" ring people? i'll start the bidding with 2...
