Here's our new girl 12 weeks old born on 9/11/06...we've waited four years for her and are very happy with her. She sort of looks like CJ a little but won't be nearly as big as he is. I have one picture of her with my son and daughter that I love--hope you will, too. I'll get one with me and her up soon. Enjoy and thanks for everyone being so nice to us. We've been lurking here for literally four years waiting till we were ready and prepared. Thanks to Ed and Cindy for their willingness to aid owners in being better handlers and improving the GSD breed!

I too waited an eternity for my GSD puppy! I know how thrilled you are to finally have her (that happiness makes up for the 3 am potty breaks!!).
Congrats!

thanks, all...Angelique, we're thinking about SAR or shutzhund, maybe both but some don't like mixing the bite work with SAR...her kennel owner has been working with SAR/FEMA for 10 years and has had several dogs in working rescues, including 9/11...we're new to the working and sport worlds, but we're so enamored by the german lines and disenchanted by the AKC shepherds that it's almost a shame not to do something with her and try to continue and make that big distinction between the US and Euro shepherds...both her parents are german imports from good lines and she's a beautiful AND smart, balanced little girl. Most people don't believe me when I tell them she's a shepherd because they've never seen an all black one before...I'll admit, I hadn't either until about 4 or 5 years ago, but that's because I had fallen for the AKC version and hadn't seen the Euro pups and their colors/coats. Her puppy fur is starting to change. Her haunch is still "wooly" but the rest of her coat is turning to the adult looking coat. The cold snap we've had here in southeast texas probably helped that along, too.
Eva, yes, my daughter was and is completely in love. She wants to be a Vet/herpatalogist and loves having another animal in the house(I have/had tropical fish on and off for the last several years). btw, happy belated birthday...what did you get for your b-day?
Sandy and Amber, yes it was a very long wait--I'll alert you on my Sainthood status lol...too long waiting in some ways, but our living situation just wasn't right...living in apartments with no yard just didn't feel right with a dog who's built to move! Now we're in a house with a good sized yard and all tile floors everywhere so accidents in the house aren't that big a deal as far as cleanup, and she's so smart anyway, I don't anticipate a problem in that area. Being a single dad, Brenna is just a joy to have around. She's great with the kids and when they're gone I have a new buddy to hang out with The last few nights we've just enjoyed sitting outside watching the squirrels chase each other in the trees. I wouldn't call it "peace" cause that can only come from God IMO, but it is settling and tranquil.
Amber, I work at night as a musician and sound engineer so when I come in it's usually timed perfectly to let her have her midnight rendevous with that perfect patch of grass..lol
thanks again, everyone

Your pup has similar pedigree as my female "Orca" on her mother side, heres my females' pedigree:
http://www.kapbusch.de/Orca-Kapbusch.htm
Click on the dams name and you'll see her pedigree history
All I have to say is SOLID nerves.

I wish your daughter all the best in her studies! And your son, too!
I don't recall. I was just glad it wasn't the same thing I got in 2001

I'm between dogs at the moment & all my photos are real paper ones which I haven't converted to digital. I need to do that one of these days, but it'll be a project!
