Hi everyone. Is it possible that it's normal and fine for a 10 week old puppy to have sort of wobbly back legs? Sometimes it looks like he's a little pidgeon-toed, sometimes he seems fine. He trips over his back legs a lot. He's clumsy!
Is it okay that this is happening? I read through the HD posts and yes, he does bunny hop when he's really running, but don't all pups do this when they're young?
Now i'm paranoid and worried? Could a 10 week old pup have signs of hip displasia? If not, why would his back legs be wobbly?
I know I need to take him to the vet, and I will. But in the meantime it's possible that someone can tell me if they've had an identical situation, I would think. Possibly put my mind at ease?
I would imagine that the vet will suggest x-rays if it's a problem but I would like to go in armed with as much info as possible.
Secondly, why waste the $$ on an office visit if this is common and nothing to worry about?
So that's why I'm asking you guys instead of a vet right away.

We give advice and opinions here and although most of us are not vets, we do have different levels of experience on our side . If you are really worried about your pup then it is not a waste of money to have him checked out. I really take the advice here serious but if it still bothers me, it is off we go an hour and a half away to see the vet.
Puppies go through gangly, clutzy stages and it may be just that but always better safe that sorry.
Keep us posted though please.

Okay, I'll take him in. I was hoping people would say, "Oh no, my pup was like that. There all wobbly when they're babies before they grow into their bodies!" Alas, it doesn't sound like that. <more worried now>
He's not limping. He's just, I don't know. It's like his back legs are sort of "stilty." He's not paralized, or limping. It's just, I don't know, sort of clutzy but only on the back legs. Man, I thought for sure this would sound familiar to someone here.
Will the vet be able to tell anything this young? Both of his parents were A1 certified. Not that that means a certainty or anything.
