I have a fifteen month old Australian shepherd who has never recieved a rabies vaccine due to the fact that it isn't required in the state of Hawaii. Hawaii is "rabies-free." Quarantine laws for incoming animals to the islands ensure this.
Eventually when I am out of the miltary I will be taking him back to Texas with me, and before that happens I would like to have him ready a far as the rabies vaccine is concerned.
Does anyone have any info/cautions/warnings to this vaccine for a dog that would be receeiving his first. How often is the booster required.
I to live in Texas and depending on where you live you can get a three year shot but most places are yearly boosters. There has been alot of rabies found in scunks in Texas. Good luck when you get here.
