Amber,
I love the photo where your pup is snoozing ,the picture was taking low on the floor it seems. That is so cute.
I also love the little boy (son or brother?)and your pup.I hope you have some of those pictures in frames they are adorable.
Finally a face behind the name! Beautiful pack...
Yeah, I was on the ground to take that pic...the only time the camera wouldn't get eaten! The boy is my seven year old son who has an amazing ability to communicate with dogs. I love watching him!
Can't frame the pics, unfortunately, because the camera was accidentally set on low res. Still, glad I got the shots!
Thanks for the nice words!
Forgot to link to his pedigree:
Father: V-Ursus aus dem Furstentum Lippe SchH3-V, KKL1 (seen Pedigree Database )
Mother: Newa von der Salztal-Hohe SchH3, KKL2
The 2 year old Corgi could take him or leave him. They peacefully co-exist.
The younger one loves to wrestle with him, but is a little bewildered by how big and strong the pup is getting. In the slideshow link I posted there's a pic of the two of them playing when he was 8 weeks old and of a similar size.
I try to keep them all kind of apart for training and bonding reasons but they spend enough time together to get to know each other. Lots of play happens in the back yard...not much in the house.
I'm totally hooked on the little imp. He's such a troublemaker: Just noticed that his puppy teeth are flat on the ends. Could it be because we've caught him chewing on: the fireplace, the cast iron stove, a hammer handle and a flagstone? No matter what we give him to chew he wants something more solid. Love my Gator!
Your son must take after you with his dog communicating gift! Lucky child, growing up with such a gorgeous GSD.
Glad to hear about your happily integrated pack
When I first got my GSD pup at 7 weeks, my older female GSD pretended not to see him. For the first two weeks she'd put her nose up and walk away every time the little imp would go up to her!! Saved me the trouble of having to separate the two - no danger of my puppy bonding to my female, lol.
Eventually she started acknowledging him and even playing with him a little when she thought no one was watching. I guess she realized we were intending on keeping the little pup - they're also in a state of peaceful co-existance now
Flattened puppy teeth eh? You're so lucky! Now you won't end up with little needle punctures all over your arms when he chews on you, congrats!
Ursus is a gorgeous dog, very nice pedigree Amber!
I have a video of Pike, I'll see if I can show it on this thread for you, another board member send it to me once.
You should have nice drives on that pup, lots of confidence, good pick!.Well your sons pictures is precious, by the way sorry I said your brother ( you look so young )
Well I have to say that I wish my 4 kids were mistaken for my sibblings
That's not going to happen,I look too much like "mom"
This dog has more confidence than I thought possible on a dog that wasn't alive 3 months ago!!
I found the link to Carbon's mother, Newa von der Salztal Höhe via Pedigree Database For some reason I couldn't locate it last time. Thanks for the PMs and input on Carbon's pedigree, Angelique. Love to hear of there's anything of interest to you in Newa's.
