I added a video of the new litter to my website. They are growing like weeds, and doing great.
I can't wait til they start walking around, oh wait a minute, Malinois never walk around.... they leap and gallop. LOL
It is really fun to compare them to GSD litters, the Mals seem to do everything much earlier than the GSDs. They are definitely more active from the moment of birth, one of the pups in this litter was nursing before she was even completely cleaned off by mom. This was about 1 minute after birth, and then of course we have the famous #10 who skidded across the whelping box at birth, she came into the world with such force.
I'll be adding photos and video weekly, just like I tried to do with the Leerburg litters.
Cindy,
Is the mother related to the one female you are doing agility with?
Are the puppies that are very dark , will they stay dark?
The light one stay light?
Just trying to educate myself on a breed I know nothimg about.
I do like the darker pigmentation but heck I like them all..
Angelique, I can vouch for the fact that the dark ones stay dark. I have a bitch(Peach vom Kaiserhaus) from Aera's first litter by Ulani Van Joefarm (Nitro). She was dark as a baby and is still very dark.
There is a photo of her in the members photo section as an adult.
I like the dark ones but, like you, I tend to like them all!!! Guess we're just dog lovers.
Debbie ,what a beautiful female! I love her colors ,rich pigment,I have to say I have alway seen the light ones but a dark color one might be my choice LOL.I'll know if I ever want to own a Mal where to go and what to ask for, a dark puppy
Your female reminds me a bit of a red sable.
CIndy, is the sire dark too?

Aera isn't related to Raine at all, Raine has a completely different pedigree than all the rest of my Malinois.
The pups will probably stay very close to the coloration they are now, if past litters are any indicator, although Aera has darkened as she grows older and Raine has gotten lighter.
Is the music on the radio on for your enjoyment only, or did you purposely select something that would be soothing to the mother and puppies?
I read about some types of classical music being of great benefit to animals... all the studies I read on Mozart's music making humans smarter made me try it out on my dogs.
Don't know if they got smarter, but it helped my female shepherd deal with her separation anxiety when she was younger (incidentally, my brother's """music""" - if you can call it that - made her behaviour worse and more hectic!)
Do you have any updated videos of the Natan litters? It would be great to see how they're growing and maturing!!
