Okay, well after finding this site and doing research I went in search of a holistic vet. Fortunatley, I found one..... just not soon enough. I have a 10 wek old GS, 1 yr lab/chow mix, and a 2 yr old cat. In December our cat went to the vet and they did all the vaccines and the whole 9 that is "recommended" on my cat. About a week ago I noticed that she was not herself, very lethagic, not eating, and has a distened abdomen... So, since I now found my new vet I called and took her ion last night... It is too late. She is in her final stage and treatment will only prolong for a small time and she will just suffer longer. (I know this is my cat, but i wanted to let people know how real this is) They drew 65cc's out of her belly and pushed fluids sub q. he gave us some homeopathic meds to help with pain and possibly getting her appetite back. But she will not make it. The vaccines has caused a reaction her body could not handle, she has fluid in her belly, which has pushed her diaphram so its hard to breath, which has pushed on her heart, etc.etc. I will now be losing one of my babies... PLEASE..if you dont think it can happen, please do your research!!! I know have to explain to my 3 yr old, 5 yr old, and 8 yr old, they best buddy is gone!
I am so thankfull to Mr. Ed Frawley for having this information... I may have lost all my friends if I didn't find his site! I REFUSE TO VACCINATE!!!!

I'm so sorry for you Marie!
What a terrible thing to have happen to such a young cat... poor kids too, losing their friend.
Don't feel too bad though. We all start out trusting our vets to give us good advice and we often find out the truth the hard way.
I hope your kitty has peaceful and happy last days
*hug*
As far as vaccinosis, my pup also had a bad reaction to his last vaccine - a nasty skin infection with a rash and red bumps all over his belly. Not as drastic as your poor cat of course, but enough to convince me as well (never again!). Who knows how much this could escalate with repeated vaccines?
At least your dogs will benefit from all this in the future...

I'm so sorry to hear about your cat Marie .
Can you explain the time lag from the vaccines given in December to her reaction only last week? Is that one of the signs of vaccinosis? The time lag?

It is common for reactions to vaccinations to not show up for several months. When you do the reading in the books on "not vaccinating" they talk about this too.
Bottom line is everyone should feed raw and not vaccinate their dogs or cats.

Marie, I’m so sorry. Hold your kitty and your children tight and make some final happy memories to help ease the pain later on.
Thanks for sharing your heartbreaking story in the hope that it will help even one person in our quest for no vaccinations.
As you think, so shall you be. |

I had something very similar to what you're describing happen to our 6 month old kitten a few years ago. The vet said it was Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP) and it was fatal. He was a shelter kitty and therefore, fully vaccinated before we got him.
Is that what your cat was diagnosed with or was it a more general vaccine-reaction diagnoses? I'm wondering because now I'm thinking that maybe my kitten's FIP was possibly vaccine related as well?

Thank you all so much for the kind words...
I hope no will have to go through it, especially with all the info on it now. She seemed completely normal until the last week to 2 weeks, then in the begininng it seemed like she was just being a "lazy cat" then suddenly, over like 2 days, she looked like she was pregnant (couldnt be though she was fixed), the first vet tried to tell me that "some cats go though these periods, and get her more exercise since she's an indoor cat AND PUT HER ON A WEIGT MANAGEMNT KIBBLE" she started to rapidly decrease in health and thats when i found the new vet.... i was just too late. the new vet said he could giver her some meds, but would not help cpmpletely it would just prolong suffering... after doing research on vaccinosis, from what i understand, it can be the matter of days or months before any symptoms are present. our new vet also said that animals should be natural diet, preferably RAW, and the stuff we had for her before finding this site, was not providing enough protein for her either.

Marie, I'm sorry to hear about you cat. You are absolutly right about it being vaccine related. We lost our most beloved cat several years ago to an abdominal sarcoma that is know to be vaccine related. The cat was fine & then 2 1/2 mo later was beyone any help & had to be put down. I didn't know at the time that it was vaccine related but with later reading & research the particular sarcoma that he had was vaccine related. The vet of course would not have told me that. She also snuck in a couple of shots that I didn't want my female GSD to have & I have since that event found a new vet. This dog now has developed allergies that I know are vaccine related. She is raw fed & alway has been....can't imagine how bad her allergies would be if she were kibble fed. My pup has only rec'd parv/distemper & will not get them or any other vaccines ever again. He will get his rabies only because I have to by state law, but won't get it until 1 year old, not at 4 or 6 months like most vet push. It is sad when vets push these vaccines just to line their pockets. I am very sure that their own animals don't get over vaccinated. I often wonder how they sleep at night knowing what they are doing to other people's pets.
