ok.. another question. Before I was informed on the raw diet and the dangers of kibble and rawhides, etc... I was giving my dog the dried rolled bones ( is this the correct name? Probably not) They are the one's that you see at the pet stores. Look like rawhides rolled up into a bone.
Anyways, he loved them. Since being informed, i have taken them away. Is there bones that you can give safely to him without the dangers of rawhides? Where do i get RMB's? I look at Wal-mart, but never see anything? Am I missing them somewhere? He loves chew on bones, but I need to know what is the correct one's to get and where to get them?
I know this may be a kindergarden question ( tee hee), so maybe if you are in first grade you can find the answer.
I am in Texas, so Wal-Mart, Target are the major stores that I go to. There is also a place called Canine Commensary. Think that's how it's spelled.
Here's the direct answer - RMBs , but I suggest you read the whole diet article here. I don't know where you are in the the feeding transition process, but it's been well covered here in the articles by Ed/Cindy, and enough threads on this forum to keep you reading for a solid month or so.
I also suggest that people read one or more of the books that discuss raw feeding. My personal favorite is Raw Dog Food 'cuz the title sums it up - "Make it Easy for your and your dog" Probably all of us that feed raw fretted and worried a lot when we started about whether we were doing it right or not. Turns out it's not all that complicated. It's very easy to make adjustments along the way. It's not necessary that they have a 100% balanced meal every single day.
