Joanne Fleming-Plumb Seminars VS Bernard Flinks Seminars.
What are the major differences between training techniques of these top level competitors?
Leerburg introduced me to Bernard Flinks training DVD's, and I found them to be an amazing training resource. Currently, I 100% support Bernards training techniques over all others that I have been exposed to.
I will probably be attending the Flinks seminar in Columbus, OH this May. It will be my first Flink's seminar.
I have also just recently learned that Joanne Fleming-Plumb hosts schutzhund seminars less than 30 minutes from me four times a year. I have heard nothing but good things about Joanne and her seminars. Next one will be on April 27,28,and 29 in Sylvania, OH. I will also be attending this seminar.
When I contacted an associate of Joanne, I was informed that Joannes style of training is completely different from Flinks, and was claimed to be a superior training style in this persons own opinion.
Any feedback on the training techniques between these seminars would be greatly appreciated.
"a superior training style"? I don't know Joanne, but I think that when you're talking about trainers that are at the level of Flinks, Balabanov, Ellis, etc..., you can't say that one style is superior than another. Just a little different. Go to all the seminars you can and mix and match what works for you and your dog.

Joanne did not say that, a close associate of Joanne did. She had no air of superiority about her techniques, she just told me she was aware of Bernard's training and preferred Joanne's style for a number of different reasons, but did not have time to discuss them over the phone. Sorry to give you the wrong impression.
Here is what others have had to say about her on this forum....

Joanne is a top rated trainer and has placed very highly in the DVG Nationals for several years.
She was a student of Gottfried Dildei during his most successful years and is best know for her excellent tracking techniques.
She has a lot to offer and would be worth the drive.
I suggest that you look at both trainers and elvaluate them yourself. There is nothing any of us can tell you except how we interpet their training style ourselves.
Both are very good at their own particuler method.
I will certainly have the opportunity to judge for myself...
I am very interested in what both Bernard and Joanne have to offer, however, I am fairly new to the sport of Schutzhund.
I would greatly appreciate the opinions of experienced trainers who have had personal experience with each style of training or is aware of what the major differences are.
