Yeah, congrats again and again...oh, and there is an additional benefit to the MoJo name, if your pup gets to acting all evil and crazy you can just call him Mojo-jo-jo like the monkey on Power Puff Girlz, the cartoon. Ever seen the show? Very very appropriate.
Please update on the sleep factor.
Well whaddaya know! I got my puppy on my birthday yesterday too! He's an angel. This is my first GSD and I never knew they were this smart even at such an early age (just turned 2 months). He came home to me basically toilet trained! He totally refuses to do his business anywhere inside my home. Amazing. Does this mean I can skip crate training?
John, if you're thinking you don't need the crate training, just leave him alone in the house for a few hours and see if things are as you left them when you come home!
Happy birthday John and congrats!
The first night was amazing, really!
I picked him up from the airport at 8pm. So I let him drink a lot of water and fed him when I got home. So we walk several times until midnight. He got so tired I couldn't get him up off the kitchen food. I had to bribe him with some treats to get him up and to the crate. But he walk right in and laid down. He woke me about 2am for a bathroom run, then again at 6am. I feed him and let him rest some more. About 8am out again for a ppop and pee. This is really amazing, no accidents in the house so far!
He's is a little cautious of things, like my shadow, he, he.
But overall I couldn't be happier!!!
I was wondering about something. My condo has about 20 steps down to ground level. I'm sure it's very intimidating for him looking down that far. He even has some pause when hoping off a curb, but will hop off curbs, go down a few steps with a little patients, and climb up the steps without to much trouble.
He is 9 weeks now, at what point should I try and make him decend the steps?
I carried my puppy up and down stairs until he got past the awkward, lack-of-coordination stage. It just wasn't worth a fall down the stairs to me.
I'm not sure what age I started to temp him into climbing by himself (he was find with going up, down was the hard part) but I know it coincided nicely with him being too heavy to comfortably carry.
