I started a totally raw diet about 3 weeks ago and in light of recent events, am so glad that I took the plunge. My 2 picky eaters are loving it and eating every drop. I would like to add green tripe to the menu and was wondering if any of you had experience with ordering from greentripe.com There is an older thread on here that says it is a very good source but want to make sure it is still a good option. Also, how much and how often do you feed the green tripe? Also, thanks to Ed and Cindy and everyone on this board for all the great info on getting started.

I just bought green tripe and fed it for the first time last night after reading all the good things about it here. I'm really glad you posted this...I'm not too sure how much to give either.
I believe Angelique said she gives it almost every day??? The person I bought it from said I can feed it as a stand alone meal or use a smaller amount along with something else. I gave @ 1/2 cup to start out.

PEEEEEE EEEWWWWWWW!!!!!
But the dogs like it.
My butcher thinks I am nuts. When we take cows in to butcher, I tell him to save that for me and he cleans it up a little bit.
My hubby makes me handle it and serve it outside.
We smell cowshit daily, so he doesn't want to smell it in the house. (same goes for fish)
I do not feed it very often.
He's no fun!! HA HA
But I was happy because the other day he told me he was happy I switched to raw with all this recall stuff going on. He knows it would devastate me to lose one of my dogs to something like that.

Hi Sarah, Yes, that was our kennel. We actually retired from breeding just a couple of months ago. We kept 2 females as pets and all the others went to great homes. I forgot to remove the link. Need to take down the website, but can't quite make myself do it yet.
I'm not an experienced feeder, so take this FWIW. I would feed it as a whole meal once or twice a week. Somewhere I saw the nutritional breakdown of green tripe and think you could probably feed it alot and everything would be fine. If I remember correctly its numbers match up real close to what is in most dry dog foods. Here is another supplier. Don't know about the price, but she is SUPER nice and is a pretty big voice in the raw feeding community.
