Jake Lindquist Webboard User Reg: 04-22-2006 Posts: 32 Loc: North Dakota Offline	I am in the market for a harness / vest / cape for SAR. We will be doing tracking and detector - so I am leaning towards a harness, there needs to be a place for identification. Any advice from the expierenced SAR handelers? What whould you suggest and where to get it? Thank you

I also buy gear at http://www.signaturek9.com He has great stuff at reasonable prices. Are you looking for an all-in-one type of thing, or do you want a good harness and a vest you can put over it? You can also try http://www.searchgear.com http://www.rayallen.com and http://www.auroralites.com Dave at AuroraLites makes GREAT non restrictive harnesses with lights built in for night tracking. One snap on and off in a flash. Velcro on the sides for patches to go on. It is an H-style harness but a lot of police dogs track with them and it does not seem to cause problems. Team patches and reflective panels velcro on and off in a flash.

This is the one I have and I like it a lot. I did not opt for the handle http://www.elitek9.com/Harnesses/index.htm These folks also sell a similar harness that they fit custom. They sewed reflective panels that say SCSARDA for me and sewed velcro on my uniform patches so I can stick on the side. I plan on buying some more stuff from them soon.
