I was at the dog club last week and the questions about breeding came up. I was told that dogs had a real bone in their penis. Just like a finger. Well that didnt sound right, I have looked it up in as many places as I could think of and nothing... Does anybody know the truth and where would one look something like that up??? I have a bet on the right answer.
there is a bone in the canine penis, the os penis. It's just a small tapered bone, not really like a finger because there are no joints. There's not a lot of information on it because it doesn't really figure into much, but anatomy charts will usually have it in there, and it shows up on x-rays.
