I just posted on this topic on the electonic collar section, but I think this may be more of a general obedience question.
What is the best way to train a dog to WATCH while walking? My dogs understand the command somewhat, and moreso in the house. In fact, my one dog, if I tell her to watch while walking, she will stop and sit and then watch. I think I must be missing a training step here, and I'm curious as to the steps for training this behavior. Is it good to use treats? clicker? no treats? thanks!

At home, have you taught "watch" or "look" while standing in heel position... before ever taking a step? Just a thought.
