Hi again guys,
I don't know if this is a forum to discuss things like rally and agility. But if so, anyone out there into this sort of things.
My dog has just completed her 2nd leg in rally novice a. Am hoping to go into rally advanced and agility. Anyone interested in chatting about that? Or am I on the wrong kind of web site to do that? just wondering...dc
Darlene, I am trying to get my dog started in rally/agility. The whole reason I found Leerburg was because I thought my dog's obd had to be solid for off-leash work. We just went today, to sign up for the beginners class next week. If you have any tips for a newbie, I'm all ears...er eyes. Haha.
I "dabble" in both agility and rally...My favorite is Rally, though. Just getting my pup started on few of the exercises and my other dog could probably get an RN if I competed, but while I love training my dogs, I do not enjoy competition lol!
No, I didn't know there was a specific part of this site that deals with that...Cool, I will go there and explore.
It is sooooooooo much fun in rally. You can talk to your dog the whole time and really look like a team. It is not as stuffy as regular obedience. Hey Alex, I have learned that you really need to practice having your dog focus completely on you.. That was and still is our hardest part. Keela is more interested in looking at all the other dogs and not paying attention to me. But if your dog walks nicely beside you, it doesn't even have to be at heel, and doesn't pull you and will sit, down, stay, front and finish, it will be a snap for you...Go for it Alex,,,you will simply love it...dc
