The recall on my two Sch line GSDs is good on the field and at home. They've gone after a cat and I called them back but when I send them out after a ball on the ground or suspended from a tree or my kid holding it out I can't call them back. They come back once they got the ball. I tried using a long line but once I corrected them they refuse to go out until I take off the lead. one of them figured out the game when I call her back I toss her my other ball but its not even close to reliable. The other is a hard head and only wants the ball thats "out there". They got collarwise really fast. I'm not looking for pretty I just want to get the dog back when they are really cranked up.
I'm thinking about going with DogTra but I've no experience with them
I like the tri tronis 500 but let me warn you if you do not understand the collar you will confuse the dog and screw everything up that you have worked for. The collar is not a punishment! It is a reminder! A tool. if you dont know how to use the tool leave it alone.......Maybe youre expecting to much to soon???????? I have not seen your training so I do not know.Tring to write the Verous sp? or a recall on the run on the board is to much for me to write. Find a good trainer you can consult with... Good Luck
I plan on getting Ed's E Collar Vid, the training up to this point is solid, We could pass a Bh with ease and one of them is my companion dog I take everywhere, schools, restruants etc.
If I understand you right you're asking about e-collars. If that's the case I use, and like very much, the Dogtra 1700 NCP. I mostly use mine in the woods with my dog. It has a wide range of stimulation and since it's digital, the adjusments are micro. It's a good size for your hand, has a light to see at night, comes with a hard case and waterproof receiver. Good up to 1/2 mile (I think) and very reliable. When I was in the market for my collar this model was recommended to me by a Leerburg employee for it's high end power (my dog is difficult sometimes). Hope I was close.
