In a Year or 2 I wanna get a Dobe to do schutzhund with I'm in Mansfield,Ohio from what i found theirs like 2 Clubs in my State and their both over 60 miles away.. I was wondering if anyone knows any certain person near me or a closer place to go ect. I'm a Hour North of Columbus. As far as the Kennels im thinking about Altobello, Semper Fidelis Dobermans,Zoosfery, Whitedk9services.com Irinland,www.adlercrest-dobermanns.com

I'm a member at Greater Cincinnati Schutzhund Club, but that is pretty far from you. You may want to check with Lorenzo Williams at Columbus Hundesport, or John Nussbaum in Dalton, Ohio. Both of their clubs may be reasonably close to you and have some excellent trainers / helpers.
What I know about Dobes could be etched on a grain of rice. However, at the Flinks seminar in Columbus a couple months ago, there was a very impressive female. I didn't catch the owner's name, but I think she was from somewhere in Ohio. In any case, what Flinks said about her dog was (quoting from memory here) "You'd be hard pressed to find a Doberman of this quality in Germany. She not only has a solid working build, but also a clear mind and great drive. She's not just a fantastic Doberman, she's a fantastic dog, period."
May want to see if Lorenzo (he organized the seminar) can put you in touch with the owner.
Her name is Tina, (Banhof Dobermanns). I train with her from time to time when her schedule permits. She's finishing her PHD and between that and work, she doesn't have much free time to train. Elle is a very nice dog. I've done some helper work for her. Tina's been talking about having a litter this fall, maybe, depending on how things work out.
You are more than welcome to come down to Columbus and visit our club or another really good club in Columbus which is Columbus Hundesport. We are MidOhio Schutzhund. Both of us are on the USA webpage. Please let me know if you have any interest.
I would also highly recommend talking to Tina. She is a very good friend of mine and has been training with us for years. Her dogs are top notch.
