Do dogs really get all juiced up after baths? Why is this so?

IME, yes! Well, mine do anyway - but I have no idea why. My big boy does it, and our old Pomeranian used to do it as well - hop out of the bath (or the lake) and run crazy like the dickens for a while. The Pom used to put the side of his face into the rug and run along like that for a while too, I'm assuming it helped sop up the water in his fur. I suppose the faster they dry off, the more comfortable they are - and running like a lunatic both airs out the coat and raises body temps... which would in turn keep them warm and maybe asist coat drying... but, really, that's just a best guess.

Oh, yes, the "juiced up after a bath" yep, my dogs have been the same way. I think it's great, and most always let them go at it...kind of sucks though if it's a winter bath inside, then especially with hardwood floors, it's a good idea to leash them and towel dry, IMO. (and/or teach the "shake off" command and just wipe splatters and dog hair from walls and ceilings :crazy
But outside, I think it's cool and funny when they get all riled up and whoopdeeedooed...woooHHOooooOOO!OOO!!!

We don't have a yard (apartment dwellers) so we wash in the tub, towel dry, then let him loose - he does laps through the house. At each end he hits a rug, brakes, and slides it all the way to the wall before blasting off to the other side. You can always tell when it's bath day as nearly every rug in the place is rumpled and smushed under or up against a piece of furniture or the walls. Crazy animal... but I always like watching him

All my dogs have always done this....and my horses! I think the colder air on the skin revs them up. :-)

My dog goes absolutely ape after a shower. It's like a boost of energy all of sudden, after standing relatively still for 20 minutes. She bolts all around the house, barks like a lunatic, rolls around, plays tug, and just basically becomes a different dog for a good 15 minutes.
Then she crashes and sleeps for about three hours straight.

My dog also gets super hyper after a bath. She doesn't like baths, but tolerates them pretty well, but when you pull out the towel she gets estatic. Zooms back and forth through the back yard, runs toward me full speed ahead then stops on a dime so she's just about sitting on my feet. It's all quite hilarious to watch. I just always figured it was a burst of enthusiasm from being done with her bath!

Wow! I never thought that it was that common hehehe. Indeed maybe the refreshing feeling after a bath hypes 'em up that much ey. Now, if I can only figure out why the inverse is true in humans! Hahaha...most of us humans feel blissful and inert after a bath!

Same with my dogs (all of them) but it's not only reserved for after a bath. They go energy-crazy every time they get wet.
If they come across large puddles in a field during a walk, they get into a frenzy and gallop back and forth through the water like maniacs. It looks like they're having a blast, that's for sure

Yah mine goes crazy with the "rips" after being wet too. Just to piss me off he has a compultion to roll after being wet. Rolling is sand is the top choice, then rolling in regular dirt, last choice rolling in dead grass clippings and burrs......grrrr.
I don't bother with baths much. We live where he will just get dirty right away again
