Okay, hopefully, with Yuko's guidance, I did this right....
#1 is my Dutch, ROCK, in an air scent exercise, you cannot hear his bark alert because of the wind........
#2 is my Mal, JESEA, alerting on bones.....we took a short clip of her to demonstrate Pavlovian response (licking lips) when she hits odor and alerts on source. I am on my way out the door to test IPWDA Advanced Cadaver in about an hour, so I will post another full length video when I get back......
Thanks for sharing! Got some range on that ROCK! Rock rocks!
For those of us that don't do cadaver could your explain the Pavlovian response? I understand the lip licking but is this due to the bone scent or anticipating some reward? Boy I hope I don't sound too stupid
Can't wait to hear the good news on the Advanced Cadaver test

WE PASSED!!!!!
Four areas.....over four hours old.....one hanging, one buried with three false holes, one surface and one negative.
No misses, false alerts or exiting the search area....handler must explain dogs alert before the testing begins and handler has 30 minutes to search each area. Jesea and I completed the entire test in 35 minutes.
WHEEEWWWW!!!!!
She did awesome and I am VERY proud of her. She will get an extra recreational bone for this.

Above is a good explanation. You can google Pavlovian response and it comes up with all kinds of stuff about Pavlov.
I get long winded trying to explain things so this shortens it up a bit, but if you have questions just ask.... \
Basically she LOVES her toy, so she associates the odor with reward, therefore when she hits odor she begins to salivate and she knows that she has to pretty much pinpoint to get her reward, so she searches until she can get as close as she can.
She will alert on scent pool edges but it is a quick sit, no lick and then she starts working her way into the strongest point of odor.....boom......sit.....reward.
She is fun to work. \ Gotta love a Mali.
I added this since I reread Jennifers post and saw that she had put "for those of us".
