I treated my pup with Panacure (worming treatment) this week and she was really sick that night! I called the emergency Vet just to be sure, although she seemed fine, bright, alert, playful.
The emergency Vet said sometimes these worming treatments can do this and it probably isn't anything to worry about.
OK fine but I still have to apply worming treatment so can anyone recommend anything they believe to be stable and has had no real problem with?
Puppy is fed RAW (mainly prey model but I do throw in some other stuff now and again) and is often fed outside and allowed to "roam" the "garden" with her food.

Hi
All Worming Products are better given on an empty stomach, and they are more effective, and this does not only apply to Dogs but Birds as well.
If Racing Pigeons are Given a wormer after being fed they will spew up Its the Basic contents which makes this reaction
Next time try about 5 hours before feeding
Panacur needs to be given with food, I caution folks on this board to give advice about things they don't have personal experience with. Especially things that can cause illness in puppies.
I should have added that I took my pup to thew Vet on Friday night, just to be sure, and my Vet said to reduce the amount of food given to her before worming, not by much though. I think the reasoning was that it might be easier on the dogs stomach but emphatically to feed the dog before worming.
End result is that the pup was fine, as I thought, and that these things just happen sometimes.
My flea and parasite infested new foster dog, got Drontal. I don't know if is is the same drug or not, but you only give one dose. My dog did not get sick on it. Maybe this can help you if you ever need to worm again.

Cindy is correct, I use Panacur and it is a powder form given one time daily for three days with meals. It is mixed in with a whole raw meal and I have never had a pup or dog have issues. With dogs on kibble, you can use a bit of warm water to make sure it gets mixed in with the kibble. If the dog is on to you and refuses to eat that, try using some of the low-sodium beef or chicken broth instead of water, or plain yogurt mixed with the kibble.
It does not lose any strength if given with food.
This is the way the horses are treated also. They get a bran mash/molasses/apple/carrot glop with the Panacur mixed in.
