I have never brushed a dog's teeth in my life. That's where I draw the line. BUT-the good news is that if you feed them properly (ie, raw food) you will never, ever, have to do such a chore. Plaque on dogs' teeth is a direct result of carbs in the diet. Kind of like if we ate sugar all day, our teeth would suffer. Grains in food are useless carbs to dogs, and they cause build-up on their teeth. Vets will tell you some crap about needing to eat crunchy kibbles to clean teeth, but try to find a raw fed dog with nasty teeth...
Dr.Pitcairn states also that over-vaccination can be a reason for poor dental health that is not fixed by raw food alone.

What kind of bones? The marrow bones?
I get knuckle and hip socket bones from the meat locker along with leg bones that have been cut into managable chunks. When the dogs are done (usually a couple hours) I pick them up and throw them away.
One thing with marrow bones....be careful giving one to a dog that has not had them or does not get them very often. Marrow is super rich and can cause all kinds of fun puddles to try and clean up.
Scoop the marrow out.....you can freeze it and add by spoonfuls every 2nd or 3rd meal if you like. (by spoonfuls I mean Tbs size)
