Normaly when you want a new dog and don't have a female you talk to breeders and go to see litters untill you find the right dog. I'm living Mal-country so the choise is big, very big. But i've done it otherwise. I wanted a pup from a certain studd but he hadn't mated with a female lately and no matings were planned. So i went in search of a person who wanted to "lend" his female to be mated to that stud. Today i got a call that the owner of the male has found someone who is willing to breed with his female. So in 4 months time a new pup

Hi Johan,
Do you know if the 2 breeders made sure the two dogs were complimentary - meaning are they a good match? There is a boat load of testing and researching the confirmation before 2 should be mated. Will there be other homes for the siblings?
Sorry for the barrage of questions, just need to point out it's harder to breed than most people think.
Thanks
Lynn

Ditto....I am curious as to the answers also. Malinois are not for everyone, which, is why I made sure there were people interested in the breeding I am planning in March 2008. 7 deposits so far, to good working homes and if the pup does not work out in their new home, they come back to me only.......plus I will keep tabs on them as they grow and develop into little Malimonsters...

I agree, finding a female can be quite easy but finding a female that compliments the male on Comformation, Temperament, Working Ability, etc, is tough! I don't plan on breeding my boy for another year or so, but I have begun the search for females and have found next to nothing, either the breeder was understandably not willing to use an outside male that was unproven, or the type just isn't there.
Being in the Ambull world it is different than with the Malis but I've seen some Malis in the past that I pitied, being poorly bred or poorly handled.
Best of luck to you, I hope the research was done and that you get a great dog
