What are your thoughts on the two lots of Ingriedients and which one would you prefer
Hi Steve,
I don't have much experience with dog nutrition but below is a link to an interesting article that a fellow member of this forum had posted on another forum. If you read it, it may help you make a decision on what ingredients you feel you should feed your dog. Good luck! http://dogfoods.angelfire.com/
The second one is an improvement by human nutrition standards, but it is still all grains. I also don't quite understand the addition of grapes to the mix, since grapes are a no-no to feed to dogs.
you are correct. I misspoke about the grapes. They are poisonous over time to dogs and anything over 9 ounces can cause harm. Please disregard my previous post about the grapes.
If you are going to choose between the two you have listed, I would stick with the first. The second has a few questionable ingredients, but the first is pretty clear. I'm also wondering where the protein comes from?
That looks more like goat food than dog food to me.
HORRIBLE stuff for a dog, I would NEVER feed that to any of my dogs. No carnivore can thrive on a diet of grains and plants, it's absolutely ridiculous. The company is clearly trying to come up with the cheapest possible concoction and doesn't care the slightest bit about the nutritional value and quality of the "food" it's producing.
Steve, why can't you just feed raw to Charlie as you do with Fred? That's the best you could possibly offer him. And nice to see that you chose to stay around
