My wife and I were in a baby store yesterday. I picked up a free magazine at the store. It has about 90% Ads and 10% articles. I was flipping through the pages and ran across this article. I was highly irritated by the behavior of this dog owner. I am all for protecting the baby, but this owner did the wrong thing.
What an A-HOLE I can't believe he thought it was ok to write something like that. Now, people who are in a similar or less stressful situation will think what he did is ok, and do the same. He really does not deserve to own a dog. I hope he and his wife have better luck with their kids.
Lets see, how many mistakes can we make? Lets start by buying a puppy from a pet store so we start with the worst genetics we can possibly find that will not be socialized at all and spent no time in the litter. Then lets not train him at all and let the aggression just build. Then, lets go ahead and DRUG him!!! That seems not to be working, so we really need ANOTHER DOG!!! When I see this stuff it's rather hard to keep from spontaneously combusting. And right now there are people out there reading that article saying "well, he did everything he could". It just amazes me.

!!! !!!
Ditto, couldn't have said it better. Stupid, sad, pathetic, and the worst part (as was noted) - at no point were there any "lessons" to be learned - no words of wisdom for the next crop of idiot new parents who can't juggle their untrained dog AND their brand new babies. At best this is a PITY PARTY about how hard it is to be a parent these days - at worst, it's validation for other parents in similar scenarios to have their neglected companions euthanized without guilt. I feel ill.
Towards the end he says he thought maybe he "failed his dog"... gee - YA THINK???!!!
