The above quote is from a thread started in 2002: Rewarding defense and aggression. Does the above statement pertain to a dog that is able to work in Fight Drive? Once the dog is trained, able, and seeks out a helper in fight drive, is there any reason to re-visit the basics of prey and defense or should the handler focus their attention on harnessing this more elusive drive in their dog?

Not that Fighting isn't for dog's that are capable, but if the dog has good prey drive to tap, us it to allow the dog to decompress after tapping the Defense and/or Fight. JMO.
