Just wondering-- this is one of the "all-naturals" that's actually in my price range.
Also- are there any threads where people talk about feeding half and half raw and kibble? I'm not ready to do all raw... but I'd like to try and supplement. Right now my boys are on Iams Large Breed- and I'm searching for a better kibble I can afford.
Also- will salt and pepper hurt dogs? Silly- but when I grill out, I'd rather give them leftover's I'm not going to end up eating than throw them away. I usually season before grilling though- is this bad for them?
Chicken Soup Kibble worked pretty good for my dogs. I think a few others on here feed or have fed it before.
If the leftovers aren't making up a huge part of their diet then I wouldn't worry about it. If you are worried, then I would just rinse it off when possible.
I always throw in leftovers when we have 'em. I'm not sure off everything to avoid with dogs, though. Obviously chocolate. Some feed a little garlic, which you might season with, and others avoid it all together. Same with onions. Just don't ever feed a preponderance of any one thing and you should be fine.
I've fed kibble and raw before. Always at separate meals. Kibble digest WAY slower than raw. The speed and efficency that dogs can digest raw is one of the reasons why they can avoid bacteria from raw meat. The theory is that the slow digesting kibble will keep the raw meat in contact with some bacteria too long.

I fed Chicken Soup for puppies before switching to raw. My dog ate it with no problems.
Take this for what it's worth: The canned product was voluntarily recalled and I was pretty horrified to find that I had fed it to my dog. I wrote the company and their response was, basically, "We're really sorry...we had no idea what was going into our product" So, they admitted really POOR quality control which earns them a black mark in my book. I wouldn't recommend it based on that.
I've fed CS in the past...You might also want to consider Canidae. I prefer it over the CS personally.
Also, RE: Salt and Pepper...I feed my dogs scraps with a little bit of seasoning. If I feel it is too much, I just rinse the meat off in the sink...dogs don't mind a bit
I have fed Chicken Soup kibble, my dogs did not thrive on it so I switched. If you are cosidering homemade or raw diets, try http://www.Sojos.com. You add the source of protein to the dog food mix. (Raw or cooked) My dogs love it and their skin and coats are beautiful. They have lots more energy too.
